Here we are in week 3 of the One Room Challenge and I can’t believe we only have 3 weeks left! This past weekend we celebrated my sister’s wedding, and had a blast with family and friends. It was fun to wear something that didn’t have paint or holes in it, haha.

Although we didn’t get as much finished as we wanted this past week, we continued to make some progress in the renovation of our motorhome.

ORC Week 3

For those that are new here the One Room Challenge is an interior design event that happens twice a year where bloggers have the opportunity to transform one room over a 6 week period. The plan is to transform our 2008 Tiffin Allegro Openroad 32LA into a Mountain Modern Motorhome. You can read more about it in Week 1 HERE or check out our inspiration and plans in week 2 HERE

The main project we finished up this past week was painting our captain’s chairs. We will be sharing more on that process soon but here’s a sneak peek:

Another item we addressed this week was removing the TV from the front of our RV. It will be moved to the bedroom and we plan to cut down the size of the cabinet that’s currently there and turn it into storage.

It turned out to be a lot easier than we thought and we made a quick video for anyone else looking to remove the tv from the front of the RV:

We have since installed the driver’s chair back but will wait on the passenger chair until we finish the front projects so we have more room to move around.

We also added a custom firewall cover for the passenger side of the RV (you can see it unfinished in the photo above). there was previously carpet in that area so we had removed it and had to create a custom cover with our new flooring.

And speaking of flooring we actually re-installed the flooring in our RV slide-out this past week. We felt like the edge wasn’t as secure as we wanted so we added some underlayment and now it’s pretty darn near perfect. We are new to most of these projects so we’re learning as we go, and sometimes that means re-doing a project to make it better. Live and learn, right?

Here’s a quick video talking about the slide-out flooring:

That about wraps up week 3 of the One Room Challenge. As you can see we are still working on some of the smaller, not so fun yet necessary projects. However, we did receive the table slide extensions so we plan to start on the media cabinet this weekend, yay!

Don’t forget to check back next Thursday to see the progress we’ve made. You can also follow along with our progress on Instagram.

  1. This is just too cool! You are redoing the RV and then heading out on an adventure? How romantic.

You look very pretty in your dress. 🙂

    1. Thanks Stacey! We are super excited for our upcoming adventure, and will enjoy it even more once the RV feels more like home 🙂

    1. Thanks Celine! We are actually planning to add a wood trim around them, but they look sooooo much better with those awful valences and blinds gone 🙂
