See how a couple renovated a Keystone Springdale Travel Trailer for their family of 5
Today’s feature comes from Tara and Michael (also known as @ourtribeof5ive), who recently transformed a 2005 Keystone Springdale into their vacation home on wheels.
Their RV, affectionately named Clark, is full of stylish DIY projects, including the real tile they installed in their kitchen and the countertops they painted after a few stain mishaps. However, I especially love the slat wall in the living room. Their renovation is only 90% complete (hence the “unfinished” slat wall), which shows some of the best design details are unplanned or happen by accident.
Not only is this camper inspiring, but this family proves you don’t have to wait until your camper is 100% renovated to get out and enjoy it!

BUDGET
Hard to say..
Tell us a little about yourself, and who you RV with.
We are a family of five who went from flipping our house, to flipping our camper! My husband is very handy with being around construction his whole life, and designing spaces has been a fun hobby for me over the years.
What inspired you to experience #RVlife?
Our friends @gnarlyzarleys gave us the push to travel when they bought their skoolie.
How often do you travel?
Try for twice a month.
How would you describe your decorating style?
Boho.
What’s your favorite aspect of interior design?
The ability to transform a space and witness my vision come to reality.
What’s your favorite piece of decor or splurge-worthy item that was incorporated into the interior?
Definitely both slat walls. Brought so much character to the space!
What project made the most difference?
The master bedroom, turning the bed sideways like a daybed.
What was most challenging about this renovation?
Rot repair in the master and bunkroom.
What’s your favorite and least favorite aspect of tiny living?
Less clutter, less to clean. Least favorite is the black water debacle every trip LOL.
Do you have any future projects or changes planned for the interior?
We still haven’t touched the bathroom or added kitchen cabinet doors/drawers.
What are your favorite places to shop for decor?
TJMAXX, Amazon, Target
What piece of advice would you give someone about to embark on an RV remodel?
You can easily be overwhelmed once you start ripping things apart! Take it easy, and work room by room instead of bouncing around.
What do you love most about your RV?
How spacious it is, especially the bunkroom!
Where would your dream RV vacation be?
Literally anywhere. Life is better in an RV.

It was a cinch to make, and you can always add a splash of color by using paint pens or sharpies in festive hues. This is our first Christmas as a married couple, therefore I’d want to get more fine-point metallic markers and create some more of them. Noritz Contractors
