How to get started on designing a creative workspace:

If you’re trying to figure out how to design your new workspace I would suggest creating a Pinterest Board specifically dedicated to office/studio inspiration. The photos you PIN don’t have to be actual office spaces either. If you see a rug you love, the perfect storage solution, an inspiring gallery wall, a funky chair or pretty accessories be sure to PIN away! You can even make your board secret if you would like.

After you have pinned several photos you will start to notice a trend of what you like and can go off of that. For example, I found myself all of a sudden needing a white faux fur office chair, you may even say I was obsessed.  I went back through my inspiration photos and realized a lot of them had faux sheepskin in the photo somewhere. Strange how that works, eh? Needless to say, I purchased some faux white fur and my office chair will be getting a makeover soon.

So which creative workspace design is your favorite?

  1. I’ve been wanting to update my “office/guest room” but now I want to just do ALL of these designs! So so so many awesome ideas!

    1. Kids seem to see everything with fresh eyes and I would think that although sharing the office may not be ideal for some, it could definitely keep you on your creative toes!

  2. I love looking at other people’s work spaces…it doesn’t matter what style they are, they are just interesting and inspiring!

    1. I agree, some of these are too one way or another but I like bits and pieces of each photo and they are just so interesting that it’s fun to imagine working in them 🙂

    1. Haha, that would be awesome, wouldn’t it? #8 is an excellent choice too, I couldn’t decide if I should share a close up photo of some of the details or a full photo show, it’s sooooo pretty!

  3. I can never get enough work space inspiration! This is a great round up. I noticed a lot of desks are facing a wall. My huge table is facing an open space in my studio where I see my two kids dancing in the background. It’s keeps me more grounded and happy than a picture could. Caught this post on Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

    1. It’s so funny you mention that because I hadn’t noticed it, but when I set my desk up I didn’t want it facing a wall because that would make me feel claustrophobic. So I’m able to see out the window and out the door, which makes it feel like I’m a part of the room and can see everything going on.

I only wish my office had more windows, I can never get enough natural sunlight 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. LOVE this collection of workspace ideas. I think I pinned half of these. I can pull unique ideas from each one… thanks so much for sharing! 🙂

    1. Thanks Leslie! There are fun little details in each one that I just want to pluck out and put in my own room 🙂

Glad you enjoyed the roundup and have a great weekend!

  5. You are SO right about the timing of office redecoration. In that sweet spot between my New Year’s Resolution and Spring Cleaning, that I’m on a mission to make my office/studio look as good as some of the spaces you found. What a great batch of inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

  6. One thing I’ve noticed is the colour harmony that seems to make these studios feel less cluttered; all white storage and files for example. I’m going to work on this. I agree that facing a wall makes me feel uncomfortable, I think it’s having my back to the room ( maybe I was a Wild West gunslinger in a previous life). My work space has loads of windows which is great for light but means I have no wall space for storage or display. You can’t win.

  7. These creative work space ideas are one of the best designs I’ve seen in the internet. I love the combination of colors and the contrasting effect of the walls (specially the dark one) with the furniture is amazing. I love putting contrasting objects in my office space. It’s just so great to look at them popping out in the picture.
