Creative String Light Ideas

I love how whimsical, romantic, and ethereal string lights can make a space feel but have you ever thought of different ways to use them in home decor? Well, today I’ve teamed up with some awesome bloggers, along with Porch.com to bring you 7 creative ways to decorate with string lights!

By the way, in case you’re not familiar with Porch, it’s a fantastical resource to find home decorating or remodeling inspiration, locate professionals to maintain or improve your home, and to get advice on any home-related projects.  You may have read a little about it back from my interview with them earlier this month.

I love all of the inspiration available on their site and was beyond excited when they asked if I wanted to team up to include some string light ideas. One of my favorite projects to date is this DIY marquee sign made with globe string lights that is hung up in my office.

To give you a little backstory, a few months ago while browsing the thrift shop aisles, I came across some wall art for $12. Although it wasn’t my taste, I knew I could transform it into a sign for my creative workspace. With a little deconstruction, paint, and a pack of globe string lights I was able to create an inspiring sign that’s not only fun but is functional too!

It’s difficult to tell in the photo below, but this marquee sign is actually the perfect lamp when I’m working on my computer late at night. I am honestly surprised at how well it lights up the room.
