Could your master bedroom use an update, but you’re just not sure where to begin or what your bedroom style even is?
Well if salvaged materials make you giddy, especially when paired with natural elements, bold patterns, or vintage finds, then you just may be a fan of Modern Rustic.
How to figure out your bedroom design style
One way to help you figure out your design style is to first consider how you want to feel in the space, and then create a secret Pinterest board that you can Pin all of your favorite bedroom inspiration photos.
Then once you’ve accumulated quite a few images you can go back through the board to look for any design or color patterns. Maybe a lot of the rooms have the same style headboard, lighting, rug or paint color. Is the room clean and simple, or are there multiple layers of textures, colors, and collectibles? Maybe there is one standout object, art or furniture piece that caught your attention? Take note of these details and you will find a direction to go in when decorating your own bedroom.
My favorite bedrooms tend to be those with tons of windows (preferably with a view overlooking the mountains or a lake), lots of sunlight, salvaged wood beams, and rustic architectural details. Okay, so maybe our rental home in the suburbs doesn’t include any of these architectural design elements, but a girl can dream, right?
Besides, there are several other ways to blend modern with rustic in order to make your current home feel as though you are already in your dream home. For me, it’s all about creating an essence or a feeling I get as soon as I walk into a space.

I loved the galvanized corrugated tin headboard. Now if I can just convince my husband this is doable!
Great ideas ! Especially love the side table suspended by rope!
