The first time I saw photos of this remodeled travel trailer, I was smitten. The interior is rustic yet bright and airy with layers of texture and pops of color.
Kevin Turner, the creator behind the space, is a photographer that grew up in NYC and currently resides in the Pennsylvania countryside with his wife, Jenny, and daughter, Hannah.
It’s easy to see how the environment has influenced his design style, which is a beautiful balance of modern and rustic. There are so many details I love about this camper renovation, one being the mix of reclaimed wood he incorporated from Stikwood. It brings warmth and coziness without feeling dark or dreary. I also love the herringbone flooring and the bathroom sink created from a Target salad bowl (genius!).
Let’s dive a little deeper into this modern country camper, which has been the perfect “home away from home” for Kevin and his family over the last 2 years. (They recently sold this camper and are in the midst of renovating a 5th wheel!)

Tell us a little about you, and those you share your RV with.
My name is Kevin I’m a photographer and I spent time camping with my wife Jenny and my younger daughter Hannah. We also have a new addition to our Family, Thor is a blue healer dog. We enjoy camping as much as we can at state parks in other places. Last year we drove from Pennsylvania to the Grand Canyon.
How often do you travel?
We are seasonal and spontaneous
What has been your favorite place to explore?
One of my favorite places is Page, Arizona
How would you describe your decorating style?
Modern country
What was most challenging about this renovation?
I found tiling and grouting the tile a challenge.
Did you draw inspiration from anything or anyone specific?
When we first took this challenge on we were 100% inspired by Mountain modern life. There wasn’t much around at the time and you guys were the best.
(Really?! That’s so cool to hear, thanks, Kevin!!)
What’s your favorite aspect of interior design?
I’m a photographer, so I consider myself a creator. I also consider myself an interior designer hobbyist.
What are your favorite places to shop for décor?
IKEA, Target, Home Goods, World market
What’s one item you couldn’t live without?
My Chemix coffee maker.
Have you learned anything from #RVlife?
You don’t need as much as you think you do.
What project made the most difference?
Removing everything and painting it white.
What piece of advice would you give someone about to embark on a renovation?
Have a ton of patience and remember everything is going to be different when remodeling a camper, compared to remodeling at home.
Do you have any future projects planned?
We recently just sold this remodel and I’m in the middle of working on my 2018 Winnebago Fifth Wheel.

I would like to know which model of Winnebago fifth wheel Kevin is working on. We are full time in a 2018 Minnie Plus and have made several changes but always looking for more ideas. Enjoy your blog and look forward to each new Design Vibe posting.
It looks like a Winnebago Minnie Plus based on the photos he’s shared on Insta – he has more info in his stories including some behind the scenes projects:

I think they’re still working on some projects but am sure he’ll be sharing more photos on there soon!
I would like to know how or what product you used for the distressed wood look. I want to do that in my old Sunliner
They actually used peel and stick reclaimed wood from Stikwood:

Could you give me some advice on hanging a TV on a wall. Pros/cons. Thanks.
Hey Cheryl, unfortunately, we haven’t installed a TV on the wall in our RV, we’ve placed one on a lift and one within a cabinet door we built. With that said I’d suggest checking out the Facebook group RV Interiors and searching wall-mounted TVs. That group is very helpful and there should be multiple people who have taken on this project and will be able to give you great advice! Anyway, I hope this helps 🙂
