Morroco, Thailand, and Spain are just a few of the incredible places Emily, a traveling nurse, and Noah, a full-time grad student, have explored over the past couple of years.
For their second wedding Anniversary, Noah even planned a surprise trip to Europe! Yeah, this couple definitely has wanderlust in their blood and it’s easy to see how their travels have influenced the interior design of their camper renovation.
Camper Renovation inspired by International Travel
Emily shares her passion for travel, along with budget-friendly tips and city guides over on Instagram. Not only does she post about her international trips, but also about easy weekend getaways, what to do and see, and more importantly, where all the good eats and drinks can be found.
She loves a good deal but definitely has an eye for design, and I love her bold color choices.
The turquoise and orange bring a bright, boho vibe to her 5th wheel and including items like the footrest she picked up in Morocco, a rug she scored from a garage sale, and a stool she found on the side of the road really help weave a story into this tiny home on wheels.
Their 2007 Dutchman Colorado 5th wheel has definitely come a long way since they purchased it back in September. They finished the remodel in November and Emily now lives in it part-time when traveling for work.
Let’s dive into the tour! Be sure to slide over the images below to see the transformation!
What kind of camper do you have?
Dutchman Colorado 38 ft bunkhouse
Do you travel or are you stationary?
Both, I travel every 13 weeks to a new location.
How would you describe your decorating style?
Bright and boho
What are you most inspired by or is there anything specific that inspired your reno?
Anytime I start decorating or redoing a space, I look to Pinterest and then I find a dupe. I never pay full price. If it isn’t on sale it isn’t for me!
Where’s your favorite place to shop for décor?
Target, TJ Maxx, and World Market
How long did the renovation process take?
2 months
How much did you spend on the renovation?
About $2,500
What was most challenging about your renovation?
Painting is the worst, everything else came easy.
What project made the most difference in the space?
Removing bulky built-ins and white paint!
What’s your favorite tiny home hack?
Not really a hack but have fun! Nothing is PERMANENT!
What’s your favorite way to hang decor?
Screws or command strips depending on the weight of what I am hanging.
Do you have any future projects or changes planned for the interior?
I plan on getting a larger couch in the near future and a rug to layer with my current one. Hopefully a complete closet reno in the next few months!
What piece of advice would you give people starting a camper renovation?
Plan a budget and try to stick to it. Do your research. Ask for help if you don’t know. YouTube is a great resource.
What’s your favorite aspect of tiny living?
There is no room for unnecessary “things”.
What’s your least favorite aspect of tiny living?
Emptying the black tank! Not that it is nasty but it is so hard to get under the camper to do it!
What is something you’ve learned in general or about yourself since going tiny?
I can do it! I never thought I could live alone in a camper or go tiny but I did and I am so proud of myself!
What has been your favorite place to explore so far during your journey? Or a place you are excited to explore in the future?
I’m new to RV exploring but I hope to visit all 50 states in the future even the ones I can’t take my rv!
