I don’t know about you, but the Christmas bug hit me a little early this year, and this time I decided not to fight it.
Besides, who wouldn’t want the season of cheer to last longer? People, in general, are kinder, more forgiving and willing to lend a helping hand. It’s totally normal to have your home sparkling with lights, and hot chocolate tastes better. Amiright?
Decorating the house for Christmas with my family was always one of my favorite things to do as a little girl. There was something about going through all of the boxes and bins filled with whimsical decor, and spreading it around the house while Christmas tunes played in the background.
Today I’m sharing some of the rustic Christmas decor I sprinkled throughout our dining room, for a simple, warm and rustic vibe.
Rustic Dining Room Christmas Decor
Most of the decor I used in our dining room for Christmas came from At Home. Are you familiar with them? They are a one-stop-shop for decorating and their every day low prices make it easy to spruce up every room in your house, both inside and out.
Growing up I knew them as “Garden Ridge” and I’m pretty sure I was there nearly every weekend with my mom. It’s also where we purchased several of our dishes and beverage dispensers for our wedding.
It’s one of those stores you walk into and you turn in circles a few times because you’re not sure which direction to go in first. This is especially true when their store is all decked out with Christmas decorations. Did I mention they offer 101 varieties of artificial Christmas Trees in the Tree for Me lot??
Regardless of your style, you are sure to find what you need to decorate your home for the holidays. They have 15 Christmas themes and a couple of my faves are “Holiday Hoedown” and “Forest Fairy Tales”. I really enjoyed browsing through their massive selection, especially the rustic and vintage-inspired designs.
My main focus for our dining room was to add some holiday cheer to our hot chocolate bar station and the open shelves. I knew I had to have the “Noel” marquee sign as soon as I saw it! I like that it can be used outside too.
I’m kinda obsessed with all things galvanized and these little vintage-style buckets that say “Merry Christmas” on them are the bee’s knees.
I also love the rustic flair of these bottle candles, don’t you?
And of course, the burlap tree had to come home with me, to be added to our dining room Christmas decor.
I also picked up a simple wreath that I dusted of fake snow and led lights.
This year I decided to add an element of the season to our chandelier with some garland and I LOVE it! I mixed some 6-foot garland I picked up from At Home with some pinecone garland I already had on hand. I also gave the garland a light dusting of “snow”.
On the other side of the dining room is where our hot chocolate bar station is set up. I added some garland in the back for some extra greenery, as well as a small artificial tree I placed inside another galvanized bucket. And you can’t go wrong with battery operated globe lights 🙂
I love the ambiance they add to the space, in addition to the little star candle votives.
I love our At Home Christmas Decor and can’t wait to share our dining room with family and friends over the holidays.
Looks like somebody is all nice and cozy. Mission accomplished 🙂
Which At Home theme is your favorite? What do you think of our dining room Christmas decor?
So pretty Katie- I love all the rustic dining room touches!! Looking forward to your full house tour:)
Thank you so much Krista! Hopefully I can get the tour up a lot faster this year 🙂
Ohhhh girl….this room is absolutely perfect!!! Dying over those buffalo check curtains!!! Great job!
This is really stunning! I’ve pinned it so I can drool over it.
I do something similar with my dining room light fixture…but your green one is SO awesome!
First of all, “tree me”… YES PLEASE! I want a white tree so badly, but after nine years of marriage, yesterday we just bought a NEW normal skinny tree. Previously we were using the husband’s parent’s tree… it was gross. However, I do love all those options they have at At Home. Also, love all your cozy decor. Fits you so perfectly! And I’ll end my marathon comment now. Ha!
Thanks Amy! If we weren’t majorly downsizing in 3 months I may just go tree crazy. I think I finally understand why people put them in different rooms, they make the space feel so magical! I’m really going to enjoy our 8 foot tree this year because there’s no way we can fit that in the RV next year, haha.
You did such a beautiful job with your dining area. It really looks cozy and inviting. You inspire me to continue with the vintage theme. I am so proud of your talent!
Awww thank you so much Carmen! It’s funny because our pets have been spending even more time in there since I added the Christmas decor, which means I have to do a lot more vacuuming, lol. If that’s the price to pay I will gladly accept it 🙂
Oh man… I want that pink tree! Wish we had an At Home here! Your space looks gorgeous, Katie. Love the pine branches in the chandelier!
I just love what you’ve done with your space, Katie. And that chandelier is fantastic!
Everything is absolutely stunning!! I just can’t decide what I like the best. I love it all 🙂
