Seana and her boyfriend travel across Ireland in their stylish caravan, where they work with his family’s funfair, and run the children’s rides.
While the pre-owned 5th wheel they purchased had updated flooring and a painted ceiling, it was outdated and not Seana’s style, which is modern and Scandinavian-inspired.
Stylish Caravan Makeover
Within two weeks, and a budget of $550, they completely transformed the kitchen and sitting room! This stylish caravan now feels more bright and modern.
Seana still plans to update the bedroom and bathroom, but what she’s done so far is super inspiring! It’s also a great example of how much paint can impact a tiny home on wheels.
What kind of RV do you have?
Avion by Fleetwood American Trailer.
What made you decide to go “tiny”?
Myself and my boyfriend travel with his family funfair around Ireland. We wanted to get something small enough to travel but big enough to feel comfortable and homely. We also like the freedom it comes with.
How long did the renovation take?
The kitchen and sitting room took 2 weeks.
How much did it cost?
500 Euro
Why was it important for you to update your caravan?
It was really important for me that our caravan looked modern as the caravan was very old school looking with lots of dark woodwork. I wanted to give it a new look and give it a facelift. White paint was my saviour as it opened up my space so much. I also added Down Pipe by Farrow and Ball to the kitchen cabinets, and some vintage morocco style tiles to the wall to add some colour and style to it. I wanted to love the trailer we live in!
Where you do draw your inspiration from?
A lot of accounts on Instagram, which actually inspired me to start my own account. I also spent hours on Pinterest. I also love celebrity interiors such as Kourtney Kardashian. I’ve always loved her interiors.
How would you describe your decorating style?
Simple and bright.
Where’s your favorite place to shop for décor?
Online! I love Amazon and eBay for a bargain.
What was most challenging about your renovation?
Painting!!! I found painting boring and sometimes lost motivation to continue! Painting the kitchen cabinets was stressful as I didn’t want to mess it up!
What project made the most difference?
Kitchen and white walls. The white walls really changed the look of my trailer! The space looked completely different. The kitchen was so outdated and now it looks so modern.
I also found that using a round dining table really opened up my space compared to square one.
Do you have any future projects or changes planned for the interior?
Yes, I am going to be starting my bedroom soon and adding some touch-ups to the bathroom. I have new wall lights for the bedroom that I’m so excited to see when they finally go up!
What piece of advice would you give someone just starting an RV remodel?
Take your time and don’t stress, it will all come together in the end!
What’s your favorite aspect of tiny living?
It doesn’t cost a lot of money to own a tiny home and I love the freedom it brings. I enjoy living the simple life of traveling with the trailer.
What’s your least favorite aspect?
The water situation and toilet! We have a water tank that we need to fill in order to have showers or even flush the toilet! It can be a bit of a pain not having a water supply.
What’s something you’ve learned in general or about yourself since going tiny?
I have learned to live in the now and do what makes you happy and to live life the way you want to!!
What has been your favorite place to explore or a place you are excited to explore in the future?
We have traveled all around Ireland! we love midlands. I’d like to travel more around the west coast of Ireland as it’s very beautiful.

Love the slatted ceiling. What is it called and can someone buy the product somewhere?
It was actually like that when they purchased it, but I love it too! You could always recreate something similar with wood.
