We are all about DIY in this house and over the past couple of years we have grown a pretty nice collection of tools. In fact, tools are one of my favorite items to ask Santa for at Christmas. Santa, can you hear me?
Gift Ideas for the DIYer
It’s amazing how the right tool can make your life sooooo much easier. So today I am sharing 7 Gift ideas for the DIYer, including 2 AMAZING stocking stuffers for less than $20!
Kreg Jig K4 Master System
Okay seriously, the Kreg Jig changed our lives! We received it last year for Christmas and I can’t even remember what our lives were like without it. This is the tool that made building furniture not only possible but simplified the process in a way that anyone can use it!
18-Volt ONE+ AirStrike Brad Nailer Kit
If you follow my blog then you already know I <3 Ryobi. In fact, Eric gave me this bad boy for Valentine’s Day and it has to be the best V-day gift I’ve ever received! The best part is that it doesn’t have an air compressor and although we’ve only used it on furniture and small DIY projects, it’s great for other home remodeling projects too!
Okay, I can’t believe I still haven’t posted the 43287439262874368276284 {okay that may be a slight exaggeration} projects I have painted using the Homeright Sprayer! It all started with my niece’s bed we built back in September, which you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram. This thing is addicting because it makes painting anything a breeze and I painted pretty much everything I could get my hands on. Some of these items made an appearance in my home tour, and others you will be seeing here soon. Not only can you use latex paint in this sprayer but you can also use chalk paint, stain, and sealer! Whaaaaaaaa? Yup, pretty sweet, right?
Ryobi 18V One Plus Cordless Lithium-Ion Drill Kit
I have to admit that until recently we were using an old drill we have had for I don’t even know how long. We then switched to the CORDLESS Ryobi Drill and wow I never realized how much I didn’t like cords until I had this guy. It made creating my new Mason Jar Chandelier super easy. Not to mention our copper pipe curtain rods were much easier to hang up when I didn’t have to deal with the cord. It’s lightweight yet sturdy and has tons of settings. This is definitely a must-have for any DIYer!
Ryobi Compound Miter Saw
This was one of the first major tools we received and it was from my dad 2 years ago. I have to admit that for some reason this tool scared me the most at first. Maybe it was the large blade or the loud sound it made? I dunno but I used to have to walk out of the room when Eric used it, haha. Now that I’ve finally gotten familiar and comfortable with it, I no longer have to wait on Eric to cut wood or branches whenever I want them. Did you know that my first “unsupervised” project using the compound miter saw was my DIY copper pipe tray? I may be slowly making strides, but considering I’m scared of butter knives I’d say I’ve come pretty far 🙂 I still remember when we cut our wood slice save the dates with a hand saw, and now we can cut hundreds of slices in no time at all. {This is the one we have}.
Looking for Stocking Stuffer Ideas for the DIYer?
Rustoleum Spray Grip
Hands down the absolute best gift for the DIYer under $10 has to be the Rustoleum Spray Grip! If the DIYer you know likes to use spray paint, then they will LOVE this! You attach it onto the spray paint and not only does it make painting easier, more even and less messy, but it doesn’t cramp up your thumb either. It’s a winner in my book.
Pipe Cutter
If you spend a few minutes browsing my blog it will become very apparent that I have an obsession with copper pipe projects or any kind of pipe projects for that matter. Creating pipe projects is not only fun, but most of them don’t require a ton of tools either. However, a pipe cutter definitely can come in handy and best of all there are tons of them available for less than $20.
What tools are on your wishlist this year?
Great roundup! I’m drooling—sign me up, Santa! I am totally picking up one of those spray paint grips. Very affordable and no more hand cramping!
I pretty much need everything you’ve mentioned here. I was going to ask Santa for a new tatoo, but that compound miter saw sounds SO necessary!
this is a nice post about different online products. I want to buy a paint sprayer.

Hi David,
I’ve never used a Wagner Paint Sprayer but hear that they are awesome. If you decide to get one I’d love to hear your thoughts on how it works.
