Hitting the road full-time in your RV or considering the purchase of an RV for weekend adventures is a big decision. Not only does it generally come with a hefty price tag but there is a ton to learn before and after you hit the road.

Katie and I know this all too well considering we hit the road full-time in our RV about 3 years ago. Before we purchased our RV and after we spent countless hours, days, weeks, even months researching everything we possibly could. All of that time was put into research because we didn’t know what to expect or how certain things worked.

I’m not going to lie, all of that time was well spent because we really enjoyed the process of learning more. Though when we first started out the RVing community wasn’t nearly as large online as it is today. Our research back then involved bowsing different websites, facebook groups, and forums and while the excitement was there we found ourselves feeling overwhelmed and a bit lost.

That’s why today we’re going to talk about Full-Time Freedom Week, in case you’re looking for a little direction in your journey

Full-Time Freedom Week

Full-Time Freedom Week is a free online event that takes place once a year designed for RVer’s by RVer’s and includes over 30 RV experts sharing their tips. The content includes Tips on Purchasing an RV, Maintenance Tips, Working on the Road, Traveling to Alaska and other countries, as well as so much more!

Katie and I are super excited to be a part of this year’s event where she’ll be sharing tips on how to get started with an RV renovation or design project! But what’s even more awesome is how much great information this event has.

Don't miss out on Full-Time Freedom Week, the largest online event for and by RV'ers!

Like I mentioned above, when we decided to RV we dove deep into research learning everything we possibly could. The problem was we didn’t know what to expect or what we should be spending our time on. Because of this, we wasted countless hours going down rabbit holes that didn’t need to be explored. If there would’ve been an event like this when we were starting out we would’ve jumped at the opportunity.

I remember when we had our RV parked in our neighbor’s driveway before we hit the road, we were actually renovating it at the time. Winter was sneaking up on us and I needed to get the RV winterized in the hopes we could prevent any busted pipes. The problem was I couldn’t find our water heater bypass anywhere. I looked and looked, searched all over online and just couldn’t figure it out, I was convinced I didn’t have one haha. Well, I did have one and eventually found it under the drawers in our bathroom cabinet.

I share that story because it’s a common occurrence of how I did a lot of research. I pushed forward, and when I hit a snag I’d pause and do troubleshooting. This is the third year for Full-Time Freedom Week, so it wasn’t around when I was doing my most extensive learning. Had it been around before we started our adventure I think it would’ve given me a much better grasp on the big picture, which in turn would have helped us so much more with the little picture items.

It’s kind of like staring at the ocean and asking “How does that work?”. Well, the ocean is a big place and there are thousands of components that go into answering the “How does that work” question. The reason we like the Full-time Freedom Week event is that you can learn a lot of valuable information, but more importantly, it can give you direction on what you need to dive deeper into in order to have a successful RV adventure for YOU.
