Modern DIY Wedding Invitations
I was thrilled when our friends asked if I would design a modern invitation set for their wedding, and if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen the sneak peek photos I shared last year.
Their colors were mint, gold, and peach and I just love how their wedding invites turned out! I recently realized that I never shared them with you, so here are some photos along with some links to the products used.
If you plan to create your own wedding invitations then I hope these will inspire you!
Modern DIY Wedding Invitations Design – An almost identical DIY set is available in my shop
Metallic Linen Paper – this added some sparkle to the gold. However, before you purchase I would ask the print shop you are using if you can use this paper. I had these printed at Office Max and they had no issues, but I had to show them the box with the label so they knew if they could use it in their printers. I don’t recommend using these in-home printers because the ink could smear.
Signature Pocket Invitation in Spearmint
Blush Pink Tags – I just purchased some peach paper to match the peach envelopes and then on my computer I designed the hexagon shape with the couple’s initials and wedding date centered on them. Afterward, I printed them, cut them out, hole punched the top and threaded the baker’s twine through them. Easy peasy!
Update: I recently decided to update this set with free fonts to make it easier for those that want to purchase the invitation set. You may want to check out the FREE Save the Date Template available here.
You can also now purchase this set over in my shop:
What font did you use for the names of the couple on these invites! It’s beautiful! Do you mind sharing the name of it?
Hi Asia,
It’s a paid font called “Carolyna Pro Black” 🙂
what font did you use for the text on invitation. thanks
What size did you use for the metallic linen paper?
Hey there Katie, I was also about to ask you about the font that was used in this gorgeous design but I realized that you just answered in the previous comment. I really like the unique design, I think this is a DIY that I must try out. Thanks a lot for the share and keep up the good work.
Cindy
Do you still have this template for purchase?? I cant seem to find it…
Hi Megan,
I have the flattened PNG templates (previously sold on my wedding blog) but haven’t added them to the new shop yet as I also want to include the editable PDF templates. I should have it up by the end of the week 🙂
Katie
How many stamps did you need to mail each invitation?
These invites and simple embellishments weren’t very heavy so they only needed one stamp per invite. If you’re unsure it’s always good to get one weighed before adding stamps to all of them 🙂
