Eric recently put together a short video, showing our Tiffin motorhome renovation progress.
Over a year ago, we discovered water damage in the back corner of our bedroom ceiling. The leak hasn’t been active – we repaired and sealed it from the roof-side as soon as we found it, but we finally repaired the inside section. This included cleaning up and re-attaching the wood, removing the rust from the metal, and adding new layers of insulation. The goal is to get the ceiling panels and tongue and groove boards installed in the next couple weeks.
Being weekend warriors certainly slows down the process, and I’ll admit I haven’t been much help lately. I’m happy I was able to help with most of the demo before getting pregnant – although removing those walls adhered to the styrofoam insulation was such a pain! Some of the projects Eric’s been currently working on involve fumes, and being pregnant, I’m not all that interested in hanging around. Not to mention I run out of breath so quickly I feel like I sound like Darth Vader without a mask on, so I’d rather not stand around wearing one. I look forward to getting past this stage so I can be of more help.
Overall, we’re feeling pretty good about the (slow) progress, but are ready to be back in rebuild mode versus demolition/repair mode.
In case you’re new here, my husband and I spent 4 years (from 2016-2020) as full-time RVers. You can read about why we stopped RVing here or see what our RV looked like before we our re-reno demo here.
