Christmas is tomorrow, yay!!! I’m so excited to spend time with family and eat some yummy food. We have so much to be grateful for and this year has been amazing! Thank you for all of your support along the way 🙂
I never shared a Christmas home tour although you may have caught some glimpses if you follow me on Instagram.
Cozy Christmas Home Decor – 2015 Home Tour
However, I wanted to share a few photos of our home decked out for the holidays at night with nothing but the glow of Christmas lights and a cozy fire.
Oh and for those of you looking for last-minute gift tags I’ve added some over to the shop. You may have caught a couple of these in my post about rustic gift wrapping ideas and I had planned to add them to my shop but um yeah, that never happened 🙂
So here are some photos of our Cozy Christmas Home Decor:
I had to include this photo too because Duckie wanted to say hello. Or maybe he’s wondering where his presents are. I’ll add those in a minute…
You can spot our wedding ornament in the photo below.
Since I never posted about it, for the tree garland I used some linen gift wrap ribbon, an old linen tablecloth cut into strips, and some yellow pom poms I dyed black.
You can see some of our Christmas front porch decor here and our cabin-inspired dining room here.
I love the moose pillow!!!! Where did you buy it??
Thanks Jane! I am a pillow hoarder, but this pillow is definitely one of my favorites, and I’ve had it for years! I actually picked it up on sale for about $12 at Kohl’s a few years back.
It looks like they have the same one, or at least one very similar on sale for about $18 right now 🙂
Hope that helps!
I ran across this post and I actually just bought this pillow! Thought I’d tag it got you Jane if you hadn’t found it yet 🙂 https://m.kohls.com/product/prd-2938185/st-nicholas-square-moose-sherpa-fleece-throw-pillow.jsp
Hi Katie! Your home is just breathtaking, and your Christmas decor is perfect! This might seem a silly question, but I love how your lights are on your tree. Are they mostly on the inside, and the light shines out? It just looks so pretty and I would love it if you told me. Thanks so much!!
Thanks Angie! We did put some of the globe lights closer to the trunk of the tree but I think mixing the globe lights with normal Christmas lights really helped add that extra sparkle 🙂
Hello!!! Your home is beautiful! I’m wondering, how do you hang the garland around your door frames? I’ve always loved the look but can’t figure out how to keep it up!
Thanks Shannon! Honestly, we’ve found command hooks to be our bff, and just used them to hang the garland in the slide outs of our RV. Just make sure you follow the directions on the back to ensure they hold the weight properly and you should be good to go. I know they sell garland door/entry way hangers, but I haven’t tried those before. Hope that helps!
Your Christmas decor and home is breathtaking and perfect. May I ask if your tree and garlands are real? And what kind of tree?
Thank you so much Francis! The tree and garlands are real, we actually picked up both from the Home Depot 🙂 We bought real garland for our RV this year at a local tree farm.
Love your home and decor, just lovely. The rustic decor is just my style!
Love your kitty too! Happy Holidays!
Your home is stunning! Thanks for sharing, I can only hope to make our home this cozy one day! Love it!
BEAUTIFUL HOME AND DECOR!
Can you tell me where you got your garland (the garland around your doorways)? I have been scouring the internet looking for something whispy like this. I’m hoping for artificial, worrying about sap from the real pine getting all over my wainscotting, and I’m allergic. If this is real, have you had any issues with sap or any other mess? I am on a holiday home tour next year and I’m getting things in line now.
Sorry, I just noticed the comment above mine
Wounderfull..love your style
I have seen many pretty and wonderful ideas on the internet but after seeing your post today I’m caught in love it… Love your photos really much!
Thank you! I can’t wait to decorate our RV again this year 🙂
Looks great! Did you use battery powered lights on the garland or are you just very good at making the cords hide in the photos?
We used a mix of plug in lights (we used the outlets next to the garland so most of the outlets are hidden) and battery operated lights. I think it’s mostly that the outlets we used were near the garland so you don’t really notice them as much.
Your home is beautiful Katie. I love those garlands. And your cat seems to enjoy the cozy Christmas atmosphere, taking it all in 🙂
How do you attach the green garland to the wall.
We used a combination of nails and command hooks – some of the nails were there from the year prior but command hooks were definitely our bff for hanging the garland.
Did you make the garlands? I love how simple they are and yet so beautiful.
We didn’t actually make the garland, but used a mix of real and fake. The real garland was from Home Depot 🙂
I love your home decor! What kind of lights did you use on your garland? and what kind of garland did you use?
We used a mix of real and fake garland but I think you may be asking about the pine garland that we had picked up from the Home Depot. We then just strung traditional warm white Christmas lights around them – I think we also added the battery operated fairy lights to a few as well.
SO beautiful!! I was wondering what the name of your paint color is on the walls? Thanks! 🙂
We get asked this question a lot but unfortunately it was a rental home and the owner couldn’t remember. I tried matching the color from the extra paint I had found in the garage a while back but none of them matched either. It looks pretty in these photos but honestly it was really dark in person and we didn’t get a ton of light in the living room so it was kind of a pain during the day – plus it had a bit of a yellow/greenish hint which made it difficult to take daytime photos, haha.
Can you please give me step by step and supplies for doorway garlin and lights
We’re not in this house anymore, but command hooks have become our BFF when it comes to hanging garland – which we wrap with lights before putting up. Heavy duty suction cups work great on slicker surfaces or windows though.
Your home is lovely! I love the color of your walls – can you share what color you painted them? Thanks!
Thanks Kelly! Unfortunately, this was a home we were renting and I never did find out the color of the walls. I asked the owner a few times but they couldn’t remember either, haha.
