In honor of Earth Day I am sharing a few ideas from the book, Art Without Waste, along with a GIVEAWAY where you can enter to win a copy of your own!
When author Patty K. Wongpakdee contacted me to see if I would be interested in checking out her book filled with upcycled design ideas, I was super excited.
As you know I love re-imagining old or thrown out items, and it’s always fun to see what designs can be created from what others would generally toss out.
This book is a collection of 500 upcycled or earth-friendly projects from designers, illustrators, and artists. It was a great conversation starter during the holidays when I had it sitting on our coffee table. You may have caught a glimpse of it during my holiday home tour.
You also may have recently seen the book show up on my storage rail system during my craft room tour. It’s great to have it nearby so I can rummage through it when looking for inspiration.
I should mention that this isn’t a how-to book, but instead lends itself to both motivate and inspire you to think outside the
box trash if you will 🙂
There are tons of super funky and interesting designs created out of everyday items that will have you thinking “that’s made out of what?!”.
The book is separated into different categories: Personal Items & Accessories, Home & Garden, Interior & Outdoor Spaces, and Art & Design. Here are just a few of my favorites:
I encourage you to pick up this book and discover the possibilities of recreating something fascinating out of objects that would otherwise be forgotten or left in a landfill.
Don’t just recycle it, upcycle it! #earthday
