20 Creative DIY Planter Ideas

I have a true confession… I have a black thumb. You know what though? That’s doesn’t keep me from trying to have plants, or from making my own planters either, like this DIY rustic modern plant stand:

I also enjoy putting succulents and flowers inside unexpected items, like teacups or candle holders, which you may have seen in my waterlogued wall art, or over on my wedding site when I shared some guestbook ideas.

So when Hometalk asked if I would like to curate a board on DIY planters, I was super excited, especially because there are so many fun ideas out there!

First off, if you are not familiar with Hometalk, it’s an online community that is similar to Pinterest but focused solely on Home & Garden projects. It’s an incredible resource for tutorials on how to make, build, or fix things and you can create your own boards filled with project ideas and inspiration. You can even ask questions or advice and the community will respond, how awesome is that?

So even if you have a black thumb like me, or are just looking for advice on how to plant hydrangeas, start a garden, or what kind of plant you have, Hometalk is a great resource.
